As your fishing guide in Amsterdam, I don’t offer a standard fishing trip, but a fully hosted, professional fishing day where everything is taken care of. From preparation and equipment to safety and guidance, everything is focused on giving you a relaxed, educational, and highly productive day on the water. Transparent, all inclusive, and without compromises — exactly what you should expect from a professional fishing guide.

During the fishing day, there’s only one thing you need to focus on: enjoying yourself!
Below you can read what to expect during a fishing trip, so you know exactly what you’re signing up for.
A fully hosted fishing day – all you have to do is show up
You don’t need to bring anything or worry about a thing — I’ve already taken care of it all. From rods and lures to coffee and rain gear. Extra warm clothing can also be arranged on request, so you stay comfortable even on the coldest days (with feeling in your fingers).
An enthusiastic fishing guide who shares everything he knows
My enthusiasm for fishing runs like a common thread through my life — and you’ll notice it the moment you step on board. I have no secrets and share all my knowledge and experience. Technique, spot selection, gear: everything is covered, so you always leave knowing more than when you arrived.
A fishing guide who makes no compromises
Every fishing day is an unsolved puzzle to me. I go all out to find the right approach, so you as my guest get the most out of the day. I never settle for “that’ll do” or standard routines. In that sense, every fishing day is like a World Cup final: full focus until the very last minute.
Great photos – and on request also a cool video
Capturing your catch is almost a hobby in itself for me. Thanks to my background as an editor and photographer for sport fishing magazines, I know exactly how to photograph both fish and angler at their best. You’ll get great photos of your catches. Want a cool video as well? No problem — it’s free, just let me know in advance so I bring the action cam.
The very best equipment from true premium brands
When I say “premium,” I truly mean it. For many guests, fishing with this equipment is an experience in itself.
You fish with carefully selected St. Croix rod setups from the top series Legend Tournament, Rayfin, and Legend Elite — each chosen specifically for the type of fishing we’re doing that day. I pair these exclusively with Shimano top reels such as Vanford, Twin Power, Tranx, and Curado DC. Say no more.
Technologically, I go all in as well: three large Garmin screens, linked to LiveScope and a Kraken bow-mounted trolling motor. Fishfinder, chartplotter, bow motor and live sonar work seamlessly together to get the absolute most out of every fishing day.
On board you won’t find clutter, but rather half a tackle shop filled with high-end lures, carefully selected for the conditions of Amsterdam’s waters.
The foundation of everything is my custom-built Siegersma aluminium fishing boat, specifically designed for the types of fishing we do. With a large, stable casting deck, the boat offers maximum comfort and freedom of movement while fishing. Everything on board is set up for efficient, safe, and relaxed fishing — even with 1, 2, or 3 guests.
The boat is powered by a perfectly maintained Yamaha outboard engine — my trusted choice for over 20 years: quiet, powerful, fuel-efficient, and virtually indestructible.
And finally, something you don’t see but that keeps everything running: BatteryLabs lithium batteries. Reliable Dutch high-tech, essential with so much electronics on board. This is not something I’m willing to take any risks with.
Safety first – fully insured, including you as my guest
Safety may not be visible, but it is essential. I’m fully insured myself, and thanks to passenger insurance, you as my guest are covered as well. Whatever happens, everything is properly taken care of. In addition, the boat is fully equipped with life jackets, a fire extinguisher, and all required safety equipment. Safety first — always.
No sponsorship – fully independent
I deliberately choose not to be sponsored. This means that everything on board is there because I fully stand behind it — not because I’m required to promote it. No marketing talk, no obligations, just complete freedom to choose the best gear and the best approach for each fishing day. That directly benefits your fishing experience.
Quality of the day – preparation, knowledge, and an up-to-date approach
No fishing day starts on the water itself. Beforehand, I tailor the day to your wishes as well as to the current conditions: season, weather, water level, and fish behaviour. This way, we never fish on autopilot, but with an approach that has the best chance of success at that moment. That’s the difference between just fishing and truly fishing well.
Summary: Fully hosted fishing day
A fishing day with me is truly all inclusive. No surprises, no fine print — just everything perfectly taken care of.
- Top-quality equipment
You fish with carefully selected premium equipment, perfectly matched to the fishing conditions of that day.
- All lures included
Use of all lures on board is included (and, where applicable, also dead bait). You don’t need to bring anything extra.
- Food & drinks on board
Coffee, water, soft drinks, and snacks are always available.
On 8-hour trips, lunch is included as well — in winter, for example, hot sausages and/or hot soup. No cold fingers and no empty stomach.
- Flexible pick-up location
Pick-up at an alternative location is possible, provided it’s practical and fits the fishing day. I’m happy to think along with you.
- Photos (and optional video)
Great photos of your catches are always included. On request, I can also make a fun video of the day — free of charge, just let me know in advance.
- Advice after the fishing day
I’m also happy to think along with you after the trip. Whether it’s about techniques, gear, waters, or next steps — a fishing day with me doesn’t necessarily end at the dock.
In short: You just need to show up. Everything else is taken care of.
